To provide a compound for an organic EL element excellent in durability, obtainable of emission of light having sufficient luminance, particularly of emission of light with a long wave length, and maintaining excellent light-emitting performance for a long time, and the organic EL element.

The compound for the organic EL element includes a basic skeleton of formula (I) wherein R1-R4 each represents a substituted or non-substituted aryl group, R5-R6 each represents any of a substituted or non-substituted aryl group and an alkenyl group, R7 and R8 each represents any of hydrogen or a non-substituted aryl and an alkenyl group, and at least two aryl groups of R1-R4 are polycyclic aryl groups including an aryl group composed of a condensed ring when R7 and R8 are each hydrogens.
