Abstract:
PURPOSE: To develop herbicidal effect at a low dosage by combining 2-chloro-6- nitro-3-phenoxyaniline with bromoxynils or ioxynils. CONSTITUTION: This herbicide is obtained by compounding one or more kinds of 3,5-dihalo-4-hydroxybenzonitrile (HBN) type compounds selected from bromoxynil (i.e., 5 dibromo-4-hydroxybenzonitrile), its ester or a salt and ioxynil (i.e., 4-hydroxy-3,5-iodobenzonitrile), its salt or salt with 2-chloro-6-nitro-3- phnoxyaniline as an amplifier for HBN. The weight ratio of 2-chloro-6-nitro-3- phenoxyaniline to HBN is 0.1-10, especially 0.2-5. The herbicide is suitable for controlling weeds of crop land of grains such as wheat or barley and corn.
