Abstract:
To provide a safe and well-tolerated norepinephrine transporter inhibitor with predictable pharmacokinetic properties for use in treatment of nOH.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to the use of 4-[2-(2,4,6-trifluorophenoxymethyl)-phenyl]-piperidine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof for treating neurogenic orthostatic hypotension and symptoms thereof. In one aspect, the present invention relates to a compound of formula I or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof for use in treating neurogenic orthostatic hypotension and symptoms thereof in a human patient, which is administered to the patient in an amount ranging from about 1 mg/day to about 20 mg/day, where the use is characterized by (a) an increase in the patient's seated systolic blood pressure, (b) an increase in the patient's standing time, or (c) a decrease in dizziness or lightheadedness experienced by the patient.SELECTED DRAWING: None
