Abstract:
A compressed air energy storage (CAES) power generation apparatus 2 includes a motor 14 driven by renewable energy, a compressor 16 driven by the motor 14, a pressure accumulating tank 20 storing compressed air compressed by the compressor 16, an expander 26 driven by the compressed air from the pressure accumulating tank 20, and a generator 24 connected to the expander 26. The apparatus 2 includes a first heat exchanger 18 that performs heat exchange between the compressed air from the compressor 16 to the pressure accumulating tank 20 and a heat medium, cools the compressed air, and heats the heat medium, a heat accumulating tank 30 that stores the heat medium heated by the first heat exchanger 18, a second heat exchanger 22 that performs heat exchange between the compressed air from the pressure accumulating tank 20 to the expander 26, heats the compressed air, and cools the heat medium, and third heat exchangers 28a to 28f that perform heat exchange between the exhaust heat outside a system and a fluid in the system. The power generation efficiency of the apparatus 2 is improved using the exhaust heat outside the system while the exhaust heat outside the system is cooled using the cold heat generated in the system of the apparatus 2.
