Abstract:
PURPOSE: To suppress generation of smokes and NOx to substantially zero by injecting the fuel into the combustion chamber at the specified timings, specifying the mean particle size of the fuel injected, allowing the fuel in particle state to boil and evaporate after the compressive upper dead center approximately, and thereby performing the fuel ignition and combustion.
CONSTITUTION: An internal combustion engine is structured so that the fuel spreading in the form of thin film is injected from a fuel injection valve 10 furnished in the combustion chamber 5 into the whole space of the combustion chamber 5, wherein the fuel injection should take place under the compression stroke 60deg. before the compressive upper dead center approximately or under the suction stroke, and thereby the injected fuel is dispersed in the whole space of the combustion chamber 5. The particle temp. of mean particle size at fuel injection is made greater than the particle size to attain the boiling point of the main fuel component determined by the pressure at the compressive upper dead center approximately or after the compressive upper dead center so that evaporation of the fuel due to boiling from the particle state is hindered until the compressive upper dead center is attained approximately after the injection. After the compressive upper dead center, the fuel in the particle from is boiled and evaporated so that the fuel ignition and combustion are conducted.
