Title:
COMPRESSIBLE LINER FOR IMPACT PROTECTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2013227716
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a compressible liner for impact protection, which is installed in a helmet worn by a person, and to provide the compressible liner which also is applied to other impact protection situations, for example to baby capsules and child safety seats, as well as offering customized zones of impact protection.

A compressible liner 110 has a relatively low density foam inner layer 124 fused to a relatively high density foam outer layer 128. The inner layer 124 has many cone shaped protuberances 130 which project into matching recesses 132 of the outer layer 128. The compressible liner 110 provides an initial low resistance to the impact for a desired part of the human body. As the impact progresses the level of resistance provided by the compressible liner 110 increases in a controlled manner so that controlled deceleration of the part of the body is occurring throughout the impact for a desired impact protection zone of the compressible liner 110.
