Abstract:
The compressor (1) is driven from the internal combustion engine (8) by a V-belt and pulleys (9). The control system for the road vehicle air conditioner uses an ECU (Electronic Control Unit) (7) to reduce the displacement of the swashplate-type compressor after running at fixed displacement for given period. An electric control signal is sent from the ECU to a pressure control valve (6). This controls cooling oil flow through the swashplate chamber (1b) of the pump. The ECU is connected to a control knob (7b) on the dashboard.
