Abstract:
To suppress the NVH of a compression ignition type engine to a permissible value or lower during high revolution.SOLUTION: A control device for the compression ignition type engine includes a spark plug 25, a controller 10, and an EGR system 55 for introducing burnt gas from an exhaust passage 50 via an intake passage 40 into a combustion chamber 17. The controller 10 outputs a control signal to the spark plug 25 at a predetermined timing so that self-ignition combustion of unburnt air-fuel mixture is caused by firing. The controller 10 outputs a control signal to the EGR system 55 so that an EGR rate as the rate of the amount of the burnt gas to that of air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber 17 becomes lower when the revolution speed of an engine 1 is high than when low.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13
