Abstract:
To suppress combustion noise by proactively correcting the mode of pre-injection when combustion environmental factors vary.SOLUTION: A control device for a compression ignition engine executes pre-injection P1 and main injection P3 so that heat generation characteristics including a first peak HAp and a second peak HBp are obtained, and sets an interval Z between the first peak HAp and the second peak HBp to be such an interval that pressure waves generated by the combustion of fuels through the pre-injection P1 and the main injection P3, respectively, counteract each other. When a reduction of an accelerator opening is detected, the control device retards an injection timing for the pre-injection P1 during a predetermined cycle after the reduction is detected, further than a reference timing Tf to be originally set corresponding to the accelerator opening after the reduction, and returns the injection timing for the pre-injection P1 to the reference timing Tf after the predetermined cycle passes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 20
