Abstract:

To provide a compression ignition type internal combustion engine capable of realizing highly efficient operation by improving ignition controllability.

Reformed fuel reformed into a fuel with high ignition capability by a reformer 30 is stored in a tank 40 and is directly injected into the inside of a combustion chamber 10 from a fuel injection means 50. The fuel with poor ignition before reformation is injected into intake piping 12 from a fuel injection means 24. Compression ignition is conducted by the fuel injected into the combustion chamber 10. By controlling fuel injection timing into the inside of the combustion chamber 10, ignition timing can be controlled.
