PURPOSE: To provide compression pliers having function of automatic opening, which can be expected to get simple in structure and light in weight.
CONSTITUTION: This device is a pair of compression pliers which is equipped with a fixed handle 2, a movable handle 3, a fixed jaw 4 and a movable jaw, rotates the movable jaw to the fixed jaw side with the handle operated, carry out compression work, and then rotates the movable jaw automatically in the releasing direction. A first gear 12 including a large diameter gear 13, a small diameter gear 14 and a releasing pin 15 is rotatably supported by a main body 1, a second gear 20 rotatably supported by the movable handle is meshed with the large gear section of the first gear, a gear section 11 formed at the movable jaw is meshed with the small gear section of the first gear, and a feeding pawl member 21 is provided with an operating arm 26 which abuts against the releasing pin when the compression work has been over so as to allow the feeding pawl section to be rotated to the direction that the pawl section is disengaged from the second gear, and with a pressing arm 25 which rotates a pressing pawl section 17 to the direction that the pressing pawl section is disengaged from the first gear when the feeding pawl section has been released. After that, the movable jaw is automatically rotated by the pressure of a energizing spring 10 to the releasing direction simultaneously when the compression work has been over.
