Title:
COMPRESSION RATIO VARIABLE DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3966742
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and precisely operate a compression ratio variable device of an internal combustion engine to a low compression ratio position and a high compression ratio position without allowing an outer piston to rotate.
SOLUTION: An arrangement according to the invention includes: an inner piston 5a; an outer piston 5b that is fitted slidably only in an axial direction to an outer periphery of the inner piston 5a and can be moved between a low compression ratio position L and a high compression ratio position H; a level raising member 14 that is rotatable about an axis of the inner and outer pistons 5a, 5b between a non-raised position A and a raised position B; and an actuator 20 that is connected to the level raising member 14 and rotates the level raising member 14 to the non-raised position A and the raised position B. The level raising member 14 allows the outer piston 5b to move to the low compression ratio position L when located at the non-raised position A. The level raising member 14 holds the outer piston 5b at the high compression ratio position H when rotated to the raised position B.
