Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an increase of combustion noise and enhance NVH performance, in a control device for a compression self-ignition engine.SOLUTION: An injection controller (PCM10), when the engine body 1 is in an operation range of a partial load, effects a diffusion combustion mode to execute main injection to start fuel injection at a compression top dead center or before it for performing main combustion mainly composed of diffusion combustion, and a pre-stage injection to perform fuel injection at least once with timing before the compression top dead center so that a peak of pre-stage combustion occurs before the compression top dead center (see (3), (4)). Further, the injection controller, when the peak of pre-stage combustion occurs at the compression top dead center or behind it due to that a state in the cylinder is turned into a state where ignition delay time is extended, effects a premix combustion mode to perform fuel injection more than once before the compression top dead center and to cause ignition and combustion near the compression top dead center (see (1)).
