Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve self-ignitability of an engine.
SOLUTION: The engine includes a space 6 sealed and connecting to a combustion chamber 1 and an opening and closing valve 61 for opening and closing the space 6 between the space 6 and the combustion chamber 1. In a partial load operation of the engine, an operation, in which burned gas filled in the space 6 is guided out into the combustion chamber 1 by opening the opening and closing valve 61 for a short period of time in an early stage of a compression stroke, and the burned gas in the combustion chamber 1 is filled in the space 6 by opening the opening and closing valve 61 for a short period of time in a late period of an expansion stroke, is repeated, the burned gas is supercharged to improve the self-ignitability.
