Abstract:
To provide a method for enhancing the collapse resistance of metallic tubular products.SOLUTION: The method comprises identifying the types of stress applied to change a residual stress profile of a metallic tubular product that has undergone a straightening process to a residual stress profile improved in the collapse resistance. The metallic tubular product is subjected to radial compression processing to control the residual stress profile and to enhance the collapse resistance. The radial compression processing is performed after the metallic tubular product has been subjected to the straightening process.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
