To provide a technology effective in keeping a good joining state of a welding joint member joined by a projection welding in a compressor.
In this swash plate type variable displacement compressor 100, a swash plate body 11 and a swing arm 19 structuring a rotating swash plate 10, or a rotating disc 31 and a supporting arm 34 structuring a rotor 30, are respectively joined by projection welding. A joining portion of the swing arm 19 and the swash plate body 11 is communicated with the outside of the rotating swash plate 10 through a penetrating hole 11b, and a joining portion of the supporting arm 34 and the rotating disc 31 is communicated with the outside of the rotor 30 through a penetrating hole 31b. hereby, there is no fear that gas sealed in the joining portions remains, so that even under a high temperature condition during operation, a hitch in the joining state of the joining portion caused by expansion of the remaining gas is prevented.
