Abstract:

To provide a system for authenticating a serialized commodity.

This system receives a fixed identity, a serial number and an authentication code for the serialized commodity to check an authenticity. The system finds an entry consistent with the received fixed identity, and retrieves a reference table. The system retrieves a fixed identification key related to the received fixed identity from the reference table, in response to the detection of the entry in the reference table consistent with the received fixed identity. The authentication code for the commodity is regenerated using the retrieved fixed identification key, the received fixed identity, and the received serial number. Then, the system determines whether the regenerated authentication code is consistent with the received authentication code or not. The commodity is authenticated by outputting an authentication code consistence message, in response to the determination that the regenerated authentication code is consistent with the received authentication code.
