Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the title composition excellent in stability, efficiency of adhesion to a substrate, etc., by mixing an acrylic polymer of a specified composition with a a cellulosic derivative, a pigment and a limited amount of a high- flash-point organic solvent.
CONSTITUTION: A polymer essentially consisting of 10-45wt.% styrene, 10-80wt.% (meth)acrylic ester of a 1-8C alkyl alcohol (e.g. methyl methacrylate), 1.5-30wt.% hydroxylated (meth)acrylic ester (e.g. 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) and 0.2-5wt.% carboxylic monomer (e.g. acrylic acid) is mixed with a cellulosic derivative (e.g. nitrocellulose), a pigment and at most 40wt.%, based on the total weight of the composition, organic solvent having a flash point of 40°C or below (e.g. propylene glycol monoethyl ether) to produce the title composition.
