Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a novel compound having excellent choline esterase- inhibiting activity and a monoamine reintrojection-inhibiting activity and useful as a medicine for treating and preventing senile dementia.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I [R1 is H, (substituted)hydrocarbon, (substituted)acyl; the A ring is (substituted)benzene ring; n is 1-10; R2-R4 are H, (substituted)hydrocarbon, or R3 and R4 may form a (substituted)heterocyclic ring together with the adjacent N; k is 0-3; m is 1-8, but when k is 0 and m is 2, n is >1]. For example, 1-[3-[(4-methoxyphenyl)methyl]-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro- IH-3-benzazepin-7-yl-]-3-[4-(phenylmethyl)piperazin-1-yl]-1-propanone. The compound of formula I is produced by reacting a compound of formula II (Y is releasable group) with a compound of formula III.
