Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound having inhibiting actions on the synthesis of squalene and antifungal actions and effectively usable as a therapeutic agent for hypercholesterolemia, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This compound (salt) is expressed by formula I [R1 is H or a hydrocarbon which may be substituted; R2 and R3 each is H, an alkyl, etc., which may be substituted; Z is a carbon chain containing double bond or Z'-C(OH) (Z' is a direct bond or an alkylene); is double or single bond; Y is carboxy which may be esterified, carbamoyl which may be substituted, etc.; ring A may be substituted], e.g. ethyl (3RS,5RS,αSR)-7-chloro-5--(2- chlorophenyl)-1-isopropyl-2-oxo-1,2,3,5-tetrahydro-4,1-benzoxazepine-3-glycolate. The compound is obtained by reacting, e.g. a compound expressed by formula II with a compound expressed by formula III, providing a compound expressed by formula IV, further cyclizing the resultant compound expressed by formula IV and affording a compound expressed by formula V.
