PURPOSE: To reduce the size of a condenser container by dividing tube group arranged in a condenser body into halves, and increasing the steam passage to thereby improve the heat exchanging efficiency thereof.

CONSTITUTION: Divided tube groups 13, 14 are symmetrically disposed with respect to the space 15 at the lower portion 11 of a condenser body 12 in such a manner that one sides are added to partition plates 23 provided oppositely to the body 12. The respective tube groups 13, 14 are divided via partion plates 15a, 15b into upper, intermediate and lower stages 13a, 13b and 13c so that an air cooler 18 and a gas extract port 16 are elevationally provided in the intermediate stages. Since the space 15 is wide even if steam or the like fed from a turbine or the like once collides with a hot water heater 21 to thus occur turbulence in the flow, its pressure is abruptly recovered to thus relatively uniformly flow toward the upper, intermediate and lower stages 13a, 13b and 13c of the tube groups to thereby improve the heat exchanging efficiency thereof. Inasmuch as the tube groups are approached to the body, they can omit the reinforcing members of the body to thus reduce the size of the condenser.
