To provide a state monitoring device with which it is possible to accurately detect a fault of a power conversion device.SOLUTION: This state monitoring device 100 comprises: a resistive element group 1 connected to a positive side of a diode converter 800c and including a resistive element 1a and a resistive element 1b; a resistive element group 2 connected between a negative side of the diode converter 800c and the resistive element group 1 and including a resistive element 2a and a resistive element 2b; a ground resistive element 6 connected between a mutual connection point M and a ground point G; and a positive voltage supply unit 4 connected to a connection point A of the resistive elements 1a and 1b. The state monitoring device 100 also includes a state signal output unit 7 for outputting, to a control device 900, a signal pertaining to the state of a power conversion device 800 based on a current flowing in the resistive element group 1, a current flowing in the resistive element group 2, and a current flowing between the connection point A and the positive voltage supply unit 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
