To provide a conductive composition which has outstanding dispersion stability of metal particles and allows easy recording of conductive images having outstanding conductive properties just by carrying out simple post-processing.SOLUTION: A conductive composition has metal particles and a repeating structure represented by general formula (1) below, and contains a compound having a weight average molecular weight of 1,000-100,000, wherein the surfaces of the metal particles are at least partly covered by the compound, and the metal atoms included in the metal particles form a chemical bond with the nitrogen atoms included in the compound (where at least one of R1 to R4 is a hydrophilic group, at least one of R5 to R8 is a hydrophilic group, and the hydrophilic group is at least one group selected from the group consisting of carboxyl groups, sulfonic acid groups, phosphate groups, and phosphonic acid groups).SELECTED DRAWING: None
