Abstract:
To obtain a conductive glass having enhanced strength by forming surface compression stress.
This conductive glass is produced by forming a tin oxide containing conductive layer 3 on a glass 1 comprising a first alkali metal where the glass 1 and layer 3 contain a second alkali metal having a larger ionic diameter than the first alkali metal. The distribution of the second alkali metal ion concentration is made continuous at a cross-section of the glass 1 and layer 3, at least at the interfacial boundary to develope a compression stress on the surface of the glass 1 by the existence of the second alkali metal.
