PURPOSE: To prevent a faulty transfer of conductive paste before it occurs by providing a surface conductivity profiling machine, a squeegee installed above the profiling machine, and a detection device which measures electric resistance produced between the squeegee and the machine and thereby detects the faulty of paste.

CONSTITUTION: A squeegee 13 is mounted so that the rotary center of a profiling machine 8 may come virtually at a base of the squeegee or at a longitudinal extension line of the base. The profiling machine 8 and the squeegee are made of conductive materials. Except for the transfer time of conductive paste 16 on an LSI chip, a resistant value between the squeegee 13, a scraper 14, and the profiling machine 8 is measured with a resistance measurement circuit 31. If a conductive paste-induced agglomerated substance 19 is clogged between the profiling machine 8 and the squeegee 13, a drop in the resistant value is measured by the resistant value measurement circuit 31 where the failure of the conductive paste 16 is detected. An automatic stop circuit 32 and an alarm 33, which are connected with the resistance measurement circuit 31, inform a worker of the failure and halt the rotary operation of the machine 8 simultaneously.
