To obtain a conductive roller having stable conductivity by using a rubber compsn. comprising an ethylene-propylene-dien ternary copolymer rubber (EPDM), carbon black and sulfur or peroxide crosslinking agent as a rubber layer.

This conductive roller is obtd. by using a rubber compsn. comprising EPDM, carbon black and sulfur or peroxide-based crosslinking agent for a rubber layer. As for EPDM, any EPDM industrially and practically used can be used, and as for the third component, ethylidene norbornene, dicyclopentadiene or the like is preferable. As for the carbon black, conductive carbon may be used in a single state or two or more kinds may be used together. As for the sulfur-based crosslinking agent, sulfur, thiazole and thiourea may be used in a single state or a combination of two or more kinds. As for the peroxide crosslinking agent, diacylperoxide or the like is used.
