To provide a conductive terminal unit suitable for lightning protection terminal unit for a curtain wall which is used in order to protect a high-rise building from damage caused by a lightning sidestroke, when metal supporting structural materials such as curtain walls are electrically connected to each other using a conductive line with terminals to construct a lightning protection system, and to provide its mounting method.
In the conductive terminal unit, a crimp-style terminal is adhered to an end of a conductive conductor, a base of a split sleeve is fixed to a hole for preventing co-rotation provided on the seat of the crimp-style terminal, a truncated cone shaped wedge nut is mounted from another end side of the base of the split sleeve, and a fixing screw to pass through the split sleeve from the base side of the crimp-style terminal screws with the wedge nut. The fixing screw is tightened to enter the wedge nut in the split sleeve and thus the split sleeve is expanded. As a result, the terminal unit is connected to a conductive member which is interposed and retained between the seat of the crimp-style terminal and the expanded split sleeve to obtain electrical continuity.
