Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator improved in performances such as fast responsiveness, an expansion/contraction rate, and force generated by the actuator.SOLUTION: A conductive thin film layer having a conductive thin film containing no base polymer as an electrode is obtained by forming a film or layer from a solution that comprises a conductive polymer having an oxidation reduction function, carbon nanotube, an ionic liquid and a solvent, a polymer and a solvent, and if necessary, another ionic liquid, by a casting, printing, coating, extruding or injecting method. An actuator element is obtained by laminating at least two of the above conductive thin film layers insulated from each other on a surface of an ionic conductive layer by crimping to form a laminate, and is configured to be deformable by applying a potential difference to the conductive thin film layers. In the conductive thin film or the actuator using the conductive thin film, the conductive polymer is poly(3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene (PEDOT)) or PEDOT:polystyrene sulfonic acid (PSS).SELECTED DRAWING: None
