PURPOSE: To reduce the difference the peak and valley of the tone characteristic in intermediate and high tone areas and to improve the quality of reproduced sound by forming a coating film made of synthetic rubber at the central par of an oscillation panel.

CONSTITUTION: In a speaker 10, the peak part of a cone-type oscillation panel 13 is combined to the intermediate part of a bobbin 12 around its one end a voice coil is wound, and the major part of an oscillation system is constructed. The oscillation system is supported so that an edge 14 can be provided between a frame 24 bonded to a plate 22 and the circumferential edge of the panel 13, a damper 15 can be provided between the frame 24 and the bobbin 12 and the coil 11 can be provided at a prescribed position within a magnetic circuit 20. A coating film 17 is formed with a chloroprene system adhesive near the peak part of the panel 13, and unnecessary resonance of the panel 13 in the intermediate and high frequency area can be suppressed by the visco-elasticity of the coating film 17. Thus, the peak and valley of the tone characteristic can be reduced and the quality of the reproduced sound can be improved.
