To provide a connecting device between a study desk and a book shelf, which is capable of easily connecting them with each other when providing the book shelf together in back of or on the side of the study desk and using it, and similarly connecting the book shelf even to the study desk whose depth width of a top plate can be adjusted.
The connecting device between the study desk and the book shelf connects the study desk A in which both side parts of the top plate 1 are supported by leg bodies 2 and the book shelf B provided with a fixed shelf plate 4 whose upper surface is at the same height as the top plate. To the lower surface front edge part of the fixed shelf plate of the shelf, one or more connecting metal fittings 5 with an upward engaging piece 6 at the tip end are detachably attached in such a state that the engaging piece projects forward. At least in the lower surface rear edge part of the top plate of the study desk, an engaging groove 7 for engaging the engaging piece of the connecting metal fitting in a state of joining the rear end part of the top plate and the front end part of the fixed shelf plate of the book shelf is formed.
