To obtain waterproofness without a tape winding and perform a connecting work even in narrow space easily and in a short time.
A connecting member constituted of a connecting sleeve 1, a rubber tubular packing 2 and fastening rings 3A, 3B is used. In the rubber tubular packing 2, an intermediate part of the longitudinal direction is put on the outer periphery of the connecting sleeve 1 and both the end parts are folded on the intermediate part. The connection is performed as follows. (1) The fastening rings 3A, 3 B are preliminarily screwed and fitted into the tip parts of pipes with spiral waves to be connected. (2) The connecting sleeve 1 is screwed and fitted so as to stride over the tip parts of both the pipes with spiral waves. (3) Both the end parts of the rubber tubular packing 2 are put on the pipes with spiral waves on both end sides of the connecting sleeve 1 and (4) The fastening rings 3A, 3B are screwed back and the rubber tubular packing 2 is pressed on the pipes with spiral waves.
