Abstract:
To make it easy to connect ends of strip members without using a coupling member.SOLUTION: Provided is a method of connecting ends of strip members used in the pipe making of spiral pipes 2. The strip members 3 (3F,3R) each have a resin main strip 10, and a metal reinforcement member 20 extending in a strip length direction of the main strip 10 and attached to an outer circumference of the main strip 10. The reinforcement member 20 includes at least a hollow main reinforcement portion 21. A connection method includes: a cutting process in which an end of one strip member 3R is cut off leaving the main reinforcement portion 21 of the reinforcement member 20, and the main reinforcement portion 21 is made protruded from the main strip 10; a processing process in which a protruding end 21E of the main reinforcement portion 21 is pressed from the outside to reduce its cross-section; an insertion process in which the main strips 10 of the two strip members 3F,3R are close to each other in the strip length direction, and the protruding end 21E of the main reinforcement portion 21 of the one strip member 3R is inserted into the main reinforcement portion 21 of the reinforcement member 20 of the other strip member 3F.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3C
