Abstract:
To provide a connecting rod bearing capable of reducing frictional loss in operating an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A connecting rod bearing for a crank pin of a crank shaft of an internal combustion engine has a pair of half-split bearings forming the cylindrical shape by being combined to each other, each half-split bearing has a main cylindrical portion including a circumferential central portion of the half-split bearing, the main cylindrical portion has a sliding face at its radial inner side, further each half-split bearing has crash reliefs formed to thin a wall thickness with respect to the main cylindrical portion, at circumferential both sides of the sliding face, at least one of the pair of half-split bearing has an axial groove extended in an axial direction on a sliding face between the circumferential central portion and the crash relief at a front side in a rotating direction, of the crank pin, and the axial groove is separated from the circumferential central portion toward the front side in the rotating direction by a circumferential angle of 10° or more, and separated from the crash relief at the front side in the rotating direction of the crank pin by a circumferential angle 10° or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
