To provide a connecting rod in which the strength can be improved.
A diagonally split connecting rod 1 connects a piston pin of a piston and a crankshaft in an internal combustion engine, and includes a rod body 2 having a first insertion hole A formed therein for inserting the piston pin and a cap that is bolted to the rod body 2 to be integrated with the rod body 2, forming a second insertion hole B for inserting the crankshaft. In a second end 2b where the second insertion hole B is formed, bolt holes 7A, 7B, 8A, 8B for bolting the cap are formed at positions out of an extended line of a stem 2C connecting a first end 2a and the second end 2b. The rod body 2 includes a linear oil supply hole 10 formed therein, which passes between the bolt holes 7A, 7B and 8A, 8B and obliquely intersects a connecting rod center line C.
