Abstract:
To provide a connecting rod which can secure strength of the large end part side of a rod part and enables improvement of hydrogen-embrittlement resistance of a connecting rod bolt.SOLUTION: A connecting rod includes: a connecting rod body in which a piston pin is connected to one end part; and a cap which is fixed while sandwiching a crank pin with the other end part of the connecting rod body. The cap has a pair of bolt insertion holes through which connecting rod bolts are respectively inserted. The connecting rod body has a pair of bolt female screw holes formed on the same axis with the pair of bolt insertion holes. At least one of the pair of bolt female screw holes is formed into a bag hole. The bolt insertion hole communicating with the bag hole is configured to extend to the outer side substantially perpendicular to the axis of the bolt insertion hole and have a communication part opening on an outer wall surface of the cap.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
