To provide a connecting structure of a buried pipe for an optical communication cable capable of connecting inner pipes to each other in a state excellent in sealing performance under a simple method and the connecting method.

This connecting structure for the optical communication cable is constituted by using one coupler on which cylindrical parts having taper surfaces 142, 142a capable of pressing and contracting a head end part of each of the inner pipes 12 by press-fitting each of the inner pipes 12 on inner surfaces on both end parts as an inner pipe coupler 14, respectively press-fitting each of the opposed inner pipes 12 of a pair of the buried pipes 10 for the optical communication cable on which corrugated pipes 11 are opposed against each other in a state of peeling and separating them by specified length from each other in cylindrical parts 142 of both end parts of the inner pipe coupler 14 through the packing 142b, making a head end part of each of the inner pipes 12 in a state they are pressed and contracted from outside through the packing 142b by the taper surface 142a of the cylindrical part 142 of the inner pipe coupler 14 and fixing a part between the opposed corrugated pipes 11 of the buried pipe 10 for the optical communication cable 10 by a split coupler 15 so as to maintain the state.
