PURPOSE: To facilitate connection of a column and a horizontal member, and to make prefabrication possible therefor.

CONSTITUTION: A dent 22 is formed to the lower end of a column 14 for a wooden building, and a recess 23 is also formed to the upper bed of a groundsill 11 on a position to which the column 14 is erected. A connecting metal fixture 20 is inserted into the dent 22 on the lower end of the column 14 and the recess 23 on the upper bed of the groundsill 11 while narrowed parts 20a' and 20b' are formed to the upper and the lower ends of the connecting metal fixtures 20 with corners on the upper and the lower ends cut in tapered form. After agreement of through holes 25 and 24 provided horizontally to the upper and the lower ends of the connecting metal fixture 20 with pin insertion holes 14a and 11a formed to the column 14 and the groundsill 11 is confirmed, pins 21 are inserted from the pin insertion holes 14a and 11a into the through holes 25 and 24, and the groundsill 11 and the column 14 are connected together.
