Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the bending strength of a long sleeper by forming vertical faces and tapered faces on the end parts of both resin sleepers reinforced by long fibers, and bonding these faces with an adhesive material.
CONSTITUTION: Parts of a composite sleeper 1 made of hard urethane resin, etc., reinforced by long fibers such as glass fibers, etc., are provided. Then, vertical tip end faces 12 and male and female tapered faces 111, 112 are provided on the end parts of both the sleepers 1. The sleepers 1 are carried in the field where a turnout point exists, and then the sleepers are arranged right below a turnout from the side of the turnout point so that they are butted against each other. The end faces 12, and the tapered faces 111, 112 are then bonded with an adhesive material such as epoxy resin, etc. Besides, when an angular joint of the same material as the sleepers is provided, tapered and vertical faces fitting the angular joint can be formed on the ends of the sleepers in order for the joint and the sleepers to be integrally bonded on each other. Further, the angular joints can be bonded on the upper and lower faces of the sleepers 1. Thus, the long sleeper can be easily laid on a wide track part such as the turnout point, the bending strength comparable to the base material can be ensured, and corrosion can be prevented.
