The connecting structure and the joint comprise a hollow pipe 1 with a slit 4 formed in its side face, a joint 2 having a first joint part 11 press fitted into the pipe 1 and a second joint part 12 connected to the first joint part 11 through the slit 4, and a connecting member 3 press fitted into the second joint part 12. Ribs 7, 14 which are coupled together in such a manner that their slopes and top corners are crushed when the first joint part 11 is press fitted into the pipe 1 are formed respectively on the pipe 1 and the first joint part 11, and ribs 15, 18 which are coupled together in such a manner that their tops are crushed when the connecting member 3 is press fitted into the second joint part 12 are formed respectively on the first joint part 12 and the connecting member 3.
