Abstract:
The binding has an instep (10) element held at one end on the snowboard (1) by a tension lever (6), which is connected to the heel element by a hinged coupler (7). The hinge point (8) forms the knee joint of a pivot lever consisting of tension lever, and coupler and heel element. A spring (13) engages the pivot lever to secure the two elements in their positions, and acts against a change in position until the pivot lever is stretched.
