PURPOSE: To prevent completely the leak of water from the drain pipe of a manhole structure by a method in which a short pipe with a flange, having a larger diameter than the drain pipe, is buried in the place where the drain pipe of the manhole structure is to be connected, the drain pipe is inserted into the short pipe, and then between the drain pipe and the short pipe is covered pressingly with a rubbery cylinder.

CONSTITUTION: When connecting a drain pipe 2 to a manhole structure 1, the flange portion 3A of a short pipe 3 with a flange, having a diameter slightly larger than the outside diameter of the drain pipe 2, is set by turning it outwards in the place where the drain pipe 2 is to be connected in such a way as to bury it in concrete. After the structure 1 is constructed, the tip of the drain pipe 2 is inserted into the short pipe 3, and a rubber belt 4A and a cylinder 4B are pressingly covered across the projected portion of the short pipe 3 and the drain pipe 2. Then, cement mortar 6 is placed between the short pipe 3 and drain pipe 2 from the inside of the manhole structure 1 for fixation.
