PURPOSE: To achieve a higher analyzing accuracy with automatic connection between a syringe needle and an empty column, by making one side of the empty column enough in the inner diameter to insert a syringe needle, while the other side thereof is made the same in the diameter as a capillary column.

CONSTITUTION: In a capillary gas chromatograph, a reagent is injected into an empty column 7 from a needle 3 of a syringe 2 and further into a capillary column 9 while a gas CG is introduced to perform a gas chromatographic separation. One side of the empty column 7 is made enough in the inner diameter to insert the syringe needle 3 while the other side thereof is made the same in the inner diameter as a capillary column 9 to form the empty column 7 into a funnel. The empty column 7 and the capillary column 9 are fixed with a connector 8. For example, the one side of the empty column 7 is set at 0.53mm in the inner diameter while the other side thereof at 0.2mm. Thus, a syringe needle for an automatic sampler is automatically inserted into the empty column and the empty column is connected to the capillary column, thereby enabling connection with a higher reproducibility.
