To provide a connection structure of a gas pipe and a pipe joint in which the connection work is simple and airtightness is high.
In the connection structure 1, a fore end 11, an annular elastic packing moving groove 12 with an annular elastic packing 5 being attached thereto, and a gas pipe abutting large-diameter part 14 having the diameter larger than the inside diameter of a gas pipe 2, are arranged on a cylindrical end part 4 of a pipe joint 3. When the cylindrical end 4 of the pipe joint 3 is press-fitted in the gas pipe 2, the annular elastic packing 5 starts to move from a groove wall 12a on the fore end 11 side to a groove wall 12b on the gas pipe abutting large-diameter part 14 while being held by an inner surface 22 of the gas pipe 2 and a groove bottom of the annular elastic packing moving groove 12, and the connection is completed at the position where a fore end 10 of the gas pipe 2 is abutted on the gas pipe abutting large-diameter part 14.
