PURPOSE: To perform the switch of connection with a single switching operation by using a means which initializes automatically a work station device in response to the connection switching action of signal lines.

CONSTITUTION: When a switch 11 is connected to a signal line 51 of a console control part 50, a work station device 1 works as a console based on a control microprogram of a console control part 50 received from the line 51. While the switch 11 is changed over and connected to a signal line 61 led from a work station control part 60 when the device 1 is used as a work station. Thus a switch 12 is also changed over in response to the switching action of the switch 11. The switch 12 cuts off instantaneously a power supply circuit 30 and then applies a power supply. Thus a control part 20 is initialized. As a result, the part 20 works as a work station based on a microprogram received from the part 60.
