Title:
CONNECTION OF YARN AND WOVEN FABRIC AND KNITTED FABRIC UTILIZING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000314043
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To connect yarns and obtain a woven fabric comprising the resultant connected yarns woven therein or a knitted fabric comprising the connected yarns knitted therein and useful for a mothproof net, etc., by superimposing the mutual yarns of polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride or polyethylene monofilaments, melting the resultant yarns in a short section and applying a pressure thereto.

For example, an insulator 6 is placed on a supporting platform 7 and heaters 4 are fixed from both sides of yarns 5 such as yarns of polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride or polyethylene monofilaments with a gap of about the thickness of the yarns 5 kept therebetween. Wiring is carried out so that an electric current can be passed through the heaters 4 for a prescribed time. The thickness of the heaters 4 is preferably such that the yarns 5 are slightly protruded from the top surface of the heaters 4 when the two yarns 5 are superimposed. On the other hand, an arm 3 is mounted through a hinge 8 on the supporting platform 7 and the insulator 2 is fixed at a position where the yarns 5 can be pressurized. The mutual yarns 5 are then superimposed and melted in a short section and a pressure is applied to connect the yarns 5.
