To provide a connector for connecting a small diameter pipe, stably establishing the connection of a pipe and a mating part, while maintaining high airtightness by simple operation, in spite of a compact structure, when supplying air and oil by relatively high pressure, by connecting a relatively small diameter pipe having a pipe diameter of about 20 mm or smaller to an automobile, various machines or a device.

This connector for connecting the small diameter pipe is constituted so that an engaging crest composed of a plurality of strips of recesses and projections is formed on the outer periphery of a cylindrical bush member out-fitted by abutting on the spool rear wall of the connecting small diameter pipe; the connecting state of the pipe is stably maintained by making an elastic claw of a retainer engaged with, pressed to and fixed to a large diameter chamber of a connector body engaged with the engaging crest so as to bite in the crest; at the same time, the inside of a connector system is cleaned before and after the connection of the pipe by a retainer pressing-down and dustproof cap and a separate dustproof cap threadably attached to the large diameter chamber; and its durability is largely improved.
