Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receptacle connector capable of performing stable electrical connection with a simple constitution and also achieving a reduced size and reduced height, and a connector device.SOLUTION: A housing 110 has an opening 102 into which a plug contact 250 of a plug 200 is inserted. A contact 150 connected to the plug contact 250 is provided within the opening 102. The housing 110 has an engagement opening 115 which engages with an engagement protrusion 215b of the plug 200 to determine the position of connection between the contacts 150, 250. The contact 150 has a branch contact section 154 including a pair of branch pieces bifurcating in a direction opposing to a direction of insertion of the plug 200 within the opening 102. When the position of connection between the contacts has been determined, the branch contact section 154 is elastically deformed to hold the plug contact 250 in an electrically conductive manner, the plug contact being inserted between the pair of branch pieces.
