To provide a connector for a fluorescent lamp capable of raising reliability of electrical connection of a hot cathode fluorescent lamp and preventing any damage.
The connector (10) for the fluorescent lamp mounted on one end of the hot cathode fluorescent lamp (1) includes a pin terminal (11) connected with an electrode of the hot cathode fluorescent lamp (10) and connected with a lead end of a lead wire introduced outside a glass tube, and a housing (12) for retaining a base section of the pin terminal (11) while a pointed head side of the pin terminal (11) is projected and retaining an end section of the hot cathode fluorescent lamp (1) arranged in a direction intersected with the pin terminal (11) via an elastic pad (5). The elastic pad (5) is arranged at a state that it comes in contact with an outer peripheral surface of the hot cathode fluorescent lamp (1), and permits dimensional changes caused by expansion and contraction of the hot cathode fluorescent lamp (1) on the basis of elastic deformation of the elastic pad (5).
