Abstract:

To provide a connector for optical communication which has a low manufacturing cost and a high precision, and its manufacturing method.

The connector 10 for optical communication is provided with a photoconductive member 19 which has one end brought into contact with the end part of an optical fiber cable 18 for sending a signal and has a plurality of light transmission holes 19a, guide members 16 and 17 which are provided on both sides of the photoconductive member 19 and with which attaching guides 14 and 15 provided on both sides of the optical fiber cable 18 are engaged, a sealing resin block 25 which fixes the photoconductive member 19 and the guide members 16 and 17 in prescribed positions, a photoelectric conversion means 22 which is arranged in the other end of the photoconductive member 19 and is provided with photoelectric transducers arranged so as to face the photoconductive member 19, and many conductor leads 24 and 23 which have connection terminals 12 and 13a exposed to the bottom of the sealing resin block 25 in one ends and have the photoelectric transducers fixed to the other ends.
