Title:
I/O CONNECTOR PROVIDED WITH ERRONEOUS FITTING PREVENTING MECHANISM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3323940
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an I/O connector in which an erroneous fitting preventing part is easily installed, which can be miniaturized, and whose dimension precision can be improved.
SOLUTION: This I/O connector 1 is constituted of a housing 3, contacts 4 formed in the housing 3, and a shell 5 for covering the housing 3. The shell 5 is constituted of a shell main body 51 and a plate 52. The shell main body 51 is formed by a curving a metal plate into approximately U-shape and covers one end face of the housing 3 in the thickness direction and both side faces of the housing 3 in the width direction. The plate 52 is made of a flat metal plate and covers the other end face of the housing in the thickness direction while being locked with the shell main body 51. An erroneous fitting preventing part 52a for preventing erroneous fitting with a counterpart connector is formed in the plate 52.
